PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain guide capable of improving the entire bending rigidity while meeting a requirement for reduction in the size and weight of an engine and suppressing cost increase. SOLUTION: The chain guide 1 is provided with a guide main body 2 having a columnar engagement projection 25 capable of being engaged with a long engagement hole 51 formed on an engine block 50 so as to be slidable in the longitudinal direction, and with a shoe 3 fixed on the guide main body 2 and having a chain sliding face 30. In this case, since the engagement projection 25 of the guide main body 2 is supported from the lower direction inside the engagement hole 51 of the engine block 50, bending rigidity of the entire chain guide 1 is increased. In addition, since the engagement projection 25 of the guide main body 2 is merely inserted into the engagement hole 51 of the engine block 50, it is unneeded to increase the entire size and weight and only minute change in a die is sufficient.
