PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding machine which can properly perform molding work by preventing the leakage of a molten material from the mold mating face between a lower mold and an upper mold. SOLUTION: Two or more hydraulic cylinders 34 are mounted on the upper surface of a horizontal support plate 25 constituting a lower mold unit 21, and a lower mold gripper 36 is supported vertically movably by its piston rod 35. By an extrusion rod 40 installed in the central part of the support plate 25, storage chambers 47 are formed in cylindrical bodies 42 fitted to the lower mold gripper 36 and the lower mold 37. An upper mold unit 22 is brought down, and the lower surface of the upper mold 54 is contacted with the upper surface of the lower mold 37. The upper mold 37 and the lower mold 54 are mold-mated. With a cavity formed between them, the upper mold unit 22 is further moved downward. In a course to move the lower mold gripper 36 and the lower mold 37 downward, the pressure of a pressure oil discharged from the pressurization chamber 97 of the hydraulic cylinder 34 is kept constant.
