PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a wire electric discharge machine capable of improving machining speed and machining accuracy, and avoiding disconnection of a wire-like electrode. SOLUTION: An electric discharge pulse current integral value computing storage device 19 computes the current integral value of the electric discharge pulses generated between a wire-like electrode 4 and a workpiece 5 every predetermined time. The control device compares the integral value and a reference value stored in a reference electric discharge pulse current integral value storage unit 20. An electric discharge pulse current integral value comparison/determination unit 21 computes the ratio, and controls a feed rate within a predetermined time computed by a feed pulse computing device 13 according to the comparison and the ratio. An electric discharge quiescent time control unit 16 controls the quiescent time according to the comparison and the ratio. Furthermore, a liquid amount control unit 17 controls coolant amount according to the ratio. This prevents surplus energy supply, improves the machining speed and the machining accuracy, and avoids the disconnection of the wire-like electrode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
