METHOD FOR STERILIZING OUTER FACE OF CONTAINER AND RETAINER OF CONTAINER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately sterilize the back surface of a flange part of a container supported with a retainer.

SOLUTION: The container 2 is held in a container inserting hole 3a by at least three pieces of pointed head pieces 5 projecting toward the center of the container inserting hole 3a from the edge of the container inserting hole 3a in the retainer 3. Thereafter, a sterilizing agent is fed to the outer face of the container 2. The sterilizing agent fed to the outer face of the container 2 also uniformly spreads over the undersurface of the flange part 2a while it passes through the container inserting hole 3a. Therefore, the whole outer face of the container 2 including the undersurface of the flange part 2a of the container 2 can be appropriately sterilized.
