<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a test pattern capable of easily detecting the test pattern itself even for the test pattern recorded with ink with poor visibility, and an inkjet printer. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for detecting a condition of the inkjet printer for delivering ink from recording heads 1a-1h to perform recording by recording the test pattern on a medium P to be recorded by the recording heads 1a-1h, after the test pattern is recorded on the medium P to be recorded having an ink receiving layer containing a phosphor on the surface of a substrate, the medium P to be recorded on which the test pattern is recorded is irradiated with ultraviolet rays, and the test pattern is detected by detecting fluorescence emitted from the phosphor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
