<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of events depending on his situations. <P>SOLUTION: To notify a user that the time to start an event registered as a schedule has come, sensing information is obtained from a plurality of sensors. Based on the sensing information obtained, situations around a terminal (user) are recognized. For example, if position information is obtained as the sensing information and if the terminal (user) is determined to be in a conference room according to the position information while the content of the event for notification is a conference, the user is determined to be already in the conference room where the conference takes place, and it is determined that there is no need to provide notification to the user, with no notification provided accordingly.
