PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system able to address water intrusion to a steering device. SOLUTION: Water droplet sensors 150 are installed at the left and right ends 120 of the housing 62 of the steering device 60. When the water attaches to the surface of the water droplet sensor 150 installed on the inside peripheral portion of a sleeve 124 at the end 120 of the housing caused by breakage etc. of a boot 130, the electric resistance between a pair of electrodes 154 and 156 of the water droplet sensor 150 lessens, which allows sensing of the water. A steering system is equipped with an abnormality treatment device, and if water is sensed by any of the left and right sensors 150, actuation of a steering motor 90 etc. on that side is prohibited so as to prevent the steering motor 90 etc. from going out of order due to short-circuiting etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
