PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of charging an electric-motor car which charges a lithium ion battery with a regenerated current in running. SOLUTION: For the amount of the first charge of a lithium ion battery for an electric-motor car, it is charged with such a smaller quantity of electricity that the voltage of a lithium ion battery may not reach its maximum battery voltage (V<SB>f</SB>) by the charge of a regenerated current. Next, the electric-motor car is run to measure the peak value (V<SB>p</SB>) of battery voltage by the regenerated current. Then, for the amount of the second charge onward, it is charged with charge voltage in a range where the peak value (V<SB>p</SB>) of the battery voltage by the regenerated current does not get over the maximum battery voltage (V<SB>f</SB>). What is more, when the peak value (V<SB>p</SB>) of the battery voltage by a regenerated current gets over the maximum battery voltage (V<SB>f</SB>) during running in the case of the second and subsequent charge, the charge voltage is reduced prior to charge.
