PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantaneously change a subject being the object of autofocus (AF) even in the case of automatic tracking by moving an AF area being the object range of AF in accordance with manual operation when the manual operation is performed in a state where the AF area is automatically made to track a predetermined subject. SOLUTION: An AF area controller 14 is provided with a track ball 40 for moving the position of the AF area by the manual operation. A tracking device 16 gives the position of the AF area for automatically making the AF area track the predetermined object to the AF area controller 14. The AF area controller 14 gives the position of the AF area given from the tracking device 16 to the AF processing part 22 of a lens device 12 which performs AF, whereby the AF area is automatically made to track the predetermined object. When the track ball 40 is operated, the AF area controller 14 prioritizes the operation thereby over the tracking device 16 and gives the position of the AF area based on the operation to the AF processing part 22.
