PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image management system which can photograph without being conscious of the residual storage capacity of a recording medium for recording image data by a photographing device. SOLUTION: The image management system transmits the image data recorded in the recording medium for recording the image data in a digital camera 20 to an internet 80 when it is detected that it is in the state which can perform radio communication between the internets 80 by the digital camera 20, erases the transmitted image data from the recording medium, and registers the image data with a hard disk 18 when the image data transmitted from the digital camera 20 is received by a server apparatus 12.
