PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for continuously drying a wet granular material transferred by a screen-type belt conveyor. SOLUTION: In a shoot-shaped first carrying area, water is extracted from the plastic granular material by a gravity at a temperature exceeding 100°C, and in the following second area on the belt conveyor, all the residual water is substantially removed by air bleeding through the belt conveyor. The air bleeding is performed at a wind velocity exceeding 20 m/sec, and the retention time in the second area is 2 seconds or less.
