PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clinically satisfiable sustained-release pharmaceutical composition for pharmaceutically active ionic substances, whether the pharmaceutically active substances is water-soluble or not. SOLUTION: The sustained-release pharmaceutical composition for the pharmaceutically active ionic substance contains ionic compounds having opposite charge to the pharmaceutically active ionic substance. More specifically, the sustained-release pharmaceutical composition for the pharmaceutically active ionic substance comprises the ionic compound having opposite charge to the pharmaceutically active ionic substance, wherein the ionic compound increasing hydrophobicity of the substance has hydrophobic groups in the molecule.
