PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickener combined with an emulsion, a dispersing material and a gel, which has transparent and beautiful appearance, high miscibility, good tactile sensation and storage stability. SOLUTION: A cosmetic, a drug and a skin care preparation have at least one copolymer A which comprises (a) 1-50 wt% of a structural unit resulting from an N-vinylcaprolactam, (b) 49.99-98.99 wt% of a repeated structural unit represented by structural formula (1) (wherein R3is hydrogen or methyl or ethyl group, Z is a 1-8C alkylene, and X+is Li+, Na+, K+, Mg2+/2, Ca2+/2, Al3+/3, ammonium or cations), and (c) 0.01-8 wt% of a crosslinked structure.
