PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging container without the need of using an adhesive in assembly, easy to assemble manually and reducing an assembly cost. SOLUTION: A pair of opposite side plates 14 and 15 are formed of two coupling pieces 14a, 14b, 15a and 15b having lengths overlapping with each other to be coupled by engaging cuts formed on their ends. Therefore, the respective side plates 12, 13, 14 and 15 can be raised without using the adhesive by engaging the coupling pieces 14a, 14b, 15a and 15b, so as to form an article storage space. Thus, a manufacturing cost (assembly cost) of the packaging container can be reduced. An external cover 16a for covering the external surface of one of side plate 14 of the pair of the side plates 14 and 15 is used as a lid 16.
