<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a digital image reproducing apparatus in which post-processing, e.g. flicker reduction, progressive conversion or image enlargement, is performed on a decoded image without requiring an additional filter circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A motion compensation circuit performs motion compensation of an image block for a decoded image by using two types of vector V1(0, 0.5) and V2(0, 1.5) shifted by one half of pixel, for example.
