<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition which gives a blur-free high quality image, because of a higher charge density of the ink drop surfaces, a sufficiently higher electrophoresis rate of the ink drop at the discharging port in an inkjet recorder and a sufficient progress of the concentration of the ink drop and an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition contains a dispersion medium and a charged particle containing at least a colorant. The charged particle is obtained by reacting a particle formed of the colorant and its coated polymer with a basic group-containing compound.
