<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter with a scratched hiding layer wherein individual information is not recognized visually in the course of manufacture and which is free from the possibility of unjust reading and excellent in the reliability in security, and a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the printed matter 1 with the scratched hiding layer, a colorless or extremely light-colored transparent thermal coloring layer 15 wherein variable individual information 11 showing a hit or miss, a grade or the like can be recorded is printed in a state of solid on a part of the surface of a base sheet 30, while the scratched hiding layer 34 is so provided as to cover the portion of the thermal coloring layer 15 wherein the individual information is recorded, by the medium of a transparent easy-to-release layer 32, and the individual information 11 is recorded in the thermal coloring layer 15 by a thermal head.
