<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a port monitor that uses an electronic mail for transmitting a print job to a printer for receiving the print job, enables a user to easily acquire information on the printer and print job, and is easily recognized. <P>SOLUTION: The port monitor comprises a means for inquiring and acquiring the status information of the print job transmitted to the printer; a means for inquiring and acquiring the status information of the printer from the printer; and a means for performing the GUI (graphical user interface) display of the status information of the print job and that of the printer on the OS (operating system) of a personal computer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
