<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a print quality from deteriorating and also enhance the reliability of the print quality. <P>SOLUTION: This method for controlling a printing machine of one mode includes the following procedures: color management data are continuously measured from printed matter 19 continuously printed using a printing machine 4, then it is diagnosed, based on the continuously measured color management data, whether or not an unstable condition of a halftone dot shape to such an extent that a print color tone is not adversely affected in a printing process by the printing machine 4, has occurred. In case it is diagnosed that the unstable condition of a halftone dot shape to such an extent that the print color tone is not adversely affected, has not occurred, control parameters of a normal state are set. On the other hand, in case it is diagnosed that the unstable condition of a halftone dot shape to such an extent that the print color tone is not adversely affected, has occurred, control parameters for stability control which are different from the control parameters of the normal state and do not adversely affect the dispersion width of the color control data, are set, and the printing machine 4 is controlled using the set control parameters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
