<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both ciphering of a secure print job and productivity of the entire print system. <P>SOLUTION: The print system having a means for controlling print data in units of job and forming an image in units of page by converting the print data into image data in units of page comprises a job state judging means having a confidential mode job requiring authentication before printing in units of job, and a normal mode job not requiring authentication and recognizing, for each job, a state where the image data is not converted for any page, a state where the image data is converted for at least one page, and a state where the image data is converted for all pages, a means for judging whether there is a normal job subjected to conversion processing in advance of the confidential mode job or not, and a judgement means for granting authentication of the confidential mode job.
