<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inductive load drive device capable of attaining a simple constitution and high reliability as well as positive transmission of an overheat state to an external controller. <P>SOLUTION: This inductive load drive device 100 includes a pair of power sections 10, 12 for energizing an inductive load 200 by complimentary operations; a power section side temperature protective circuit which corresponds to the pair of power sections 10, 12, detects overheat states of the pair of power sections 10, 12 and performing an overheat protective operation; a communication driver for transmitting the overheat states of the power sections 10, 12 detected by the temperature protective circuit to the external controller 300; a communication driver side temperature protective circuit for detecting the overheat state of the communication driver and performing the overheat protective operation.
