<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech recognition system suitable for the use of retrieving person data by speech recognition. <P>SOLUTION: The speech recognition system 1 is provided with a microphone 2 for collecting speech of an operator (input person), a speech recognition means 12 for recognizing the collected speech, a retrieval means 13 for retrieving a list based on the recognized information, a display 14, and a keyboard 15. The speech recognition means 12 through the keyboard 15 are connected to each other through an internal bus 16, and mutual exchange of data and operational control by a controller 17 are carried out. Further, the retrieval means 13 is connected to an employee database 4 through an in-house LAN (Local Area Network), and acquires the personal data on the employee by making access to the database 4 of this employee.
