<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing power consumption of the apparatus and steadily fixing toner to recording paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a printing rate calculating device 90 designed such that the printing rate of image for each block of recording paper is calculated based on image data. A data table showing a relation between the printing rate of image on the recording paper and a set temperature of a fixing heater 63 is read into a control device 92 from a memory 93. Also, in the control device 92, according to the result of the calculation of the printing rate of image for each block of the recording paper transmitted from the printing rate calculating device 90, the temperature of the fixing heater 63 at which the recording paper passes through the nip section of a fixing device 60 is set for each block. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
