<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head section protecting airbag device which can smoothly project an airbag being housed on the upper edge side of a window to the cabin internal side without taking a gas leakage remedy such as the provision of a reinforcing cloth. <P>SOLUTION: This head section protecting airbag device M is equipped with the airbag 20 and a guiding bracket 40. The guiding bracket 40 has a cross section of an approximate U shape which is equipped with two guiding wall sections 46 and 47, and a connecting wall section 41. The bracket 40 houses the airbag in a space between the guiding wall sections 46 and 47, and guides the airbag when being expanded to the cabin internal side I in a manner to prevent a pillar garnish 6 from entering the cabin external side O while being covered by an air bag cover 8 on the upper side of a pillar section RP. The bracket 40 forms a gap H between the airbag when being housed and at least one guiding wall section 46 in a manner to allow the expansion at the expansion initial stage of the housed airbag. Also, the dimension between the guiding wall sections 46 and 47 is set in a manner to guide the airbag to the cabin internal side I by making the guiding wall sections 46 and 47 regulate the airbag. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
