PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a transceiver for a long period without recharging even when the tranceiver induces an electric field based upon information to be transmitted by an electric field transmission medium and detects the induced electric field to transmit and receive the information. SOLUTION: A power source portion 20 of the tranceiver 1 comprises a power supply portion 21, a power feed control portion 22, and a power supply portion 23. Here, the power supply portion 21 always supplies a power to a reception portion 910 and the power feed control portion 22 controls the power supply portion 23 according to whether or not there is a signal outputted from the reception portion 910. Namely, the power feed control portion 22 controls the power supply portion 23 to supply the electric power to the whole communication portion 10 when detecting the signal and stop supplying the electric power to the whole communication portion 10 when not detecting the signal, and the power supply portion 23 supplies the electric power to the whole communication portion 10 under the power feed control by the power feed control portion 22.
