PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus capable of performing reproduction as natural video images even when a pair of data formed with mutually synchronized audio data and dynamic image data is compressed and decompressed. SOLUTION: The method includes dividing the audio data and the dynamic image data into a plurality of sections, deciding parameter time series that defines a degree of compression and decompression of the audio data and the dynamic image data for each divided section, dividing the divided audio data into input frames at equal intervals, and deciding output frame length based on the parameter time series. With this arrangement, with respect to the audio data, a correspondence table indicating synchronized points between the audio data before and after compression/decompression is outputted, the audio data is compressed and decompressed based on the correspondence table, and the dynamic image data is compressed and decompressed based on the correspondence table.
