PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation in the quality of photographic paper of magazines as far as possible when the three or more prescribed number of the magazines are settable into a photographic processing device. SOLUTION: The photographic processing device comprises a residual quantity information memory section 821 for storing the residual quantity information of the photographic paper contained in the magazines 11, 12, 13; a residual quantity comparison section 817, a time information memory section 822 for specifying the point of time when the respective magazines are set in the device; an elapsed time calculating section 816 for calculating the elapsed time from the time information of the time information memory section 822 up to the present; an elapsed time comparison section 818 for comparing the duration of the elapsed time; and a magazine selection section 819 for selecting the magazine of the least photographic paper when the residual quantity of each sheet of the photographic paper varies based on the judgment result of a residual quantity comparison section 817 and selecting the magazine of the longest elapsed time by using the judgment result of the elapsed time comparison section 818 when the residual quantity of each sheet of the photographic paper is the same.
