PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new acetonitrile compounds which exhibit a high treating effect on plant diseases, particularly downy mildew and phytophthora rot in more reduced doses, a rain-resistant effect, and almost no phytotoxity, and bactericides containing these compound as active ingredients, particularly agricultural/horticultural bactericides. SOLUTION: The acetonitrile compounds represented by formula (I) (including the optical isomers) or salts thereof are provided. The agricultural/horticultural bactericides contain the compounds.
