PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing pottery having excellent heat-insulating and keeping warm properties without making the production process complicated. SOLUTION: A cup 10 has a double structure in which an air layer 18 having a prescribed interval is provided between an inner vessel 12 and an outer vessel 14. The outer side of a mold 30 of the cup 10 is first covered with clay 12A for forming the inner vessel through an adhesion-preventing sheet 32, and the outer side of the clay 12A is covered with a flammable sheet 34 having a prescribed thickness. Then, the outer side of the flammable sheet 34 is covered with clay 14A for forming the outer vessel, and the edge parts of the clay 14A and the clay 12A are unified, and further, a ventilation hole 20 is provided in a bottom part 14B. When the unified article is biscuit fired, the flammable sheet 34 is burned and the air layer 18 is formed between the inner vessel 12 and the outer vessel 14. The ventilation hole 20 is closed by a sealing material 22 after glost firing. The cup 10 exhibits high heat-insulating and keeping warm effects because it has the air layer 18 at the inside.
