PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device having simple construction for stacking sheet materials without causing a trouble such as crooking or folding in the sheet materials even when the sheet materials are carried at high speed, and also to provide a method therefor. SOLUTION: Between a conveyor 32 and a stack part 42, a pair of inclined belts 44, 46 are arranged which is inclined to a horizontal plane in a rising state. The inclined belts 44, 46 are used for throwing PS (Pre-sensitized Aluminum) plates 10 obliquely to the upper side. Thus, as compared with the case of throwing-in the PS materials 10 in a horizontal direction, the horizontal speed components of the PS materials 10 are reduced. As a result, even when the PS materials 10 are carried at a high speed, the PS materials 10 are stacked on the stack part 42 without folding or crooking of the PS materials 10. Since the horizontal speed components of the PS materials 10 are reduced only by throwing the PS materials 10 obliquely to the upper side, the device can be achied with simple construction.
