An image processor, an image processing method and a program are provided to solve a problem that important information is not displayed on a display screen causing user's inconvenience by realizing user-friendly display of a zoom image. An image processor(1) displays an image based on image signals received from an external apparatus or recorded in the image processor of a display device. An operating unit(11) provides an operating signal corresponding to user's operation to an important object detecting unit(13) and a zoom processing unit(16). An image input unit(12) provides the received image signal to the important object detecting unit and a frame memory. The important object detecting unit determines a zoom area with regard to an original image supplied from the image input unit based on a zoom signal supplied from the operating unit. When it is determined based on a detected result that a change of the zoom area is needed, a zoom area changing unit(14) provides a zoom signal for changing the zoom area instead of a zoom signal supplied to the zoom processing unit from the operating unit to the zoom processing unit. A zoom image supplied from an image output unit(17) and the zoom processing unit is displayed and output. |
