A method for controlling a 3-dimensional screen in a navigation apparatus is provided to generate a vivid driving screen by adjusting a 3D screen according to a variation in an altitude of a road. A navigation apparatus includes a receiving unit(210), an input unit(220), a controller(230), a storage unit(240), and a display unit(250). The receiving unit receives position signals from a GPS(Global Positioning System) satellite or a base station and calculates coordinates and altitudes of respective positions. The input unit delivers a user input to the controller. The controller calculates relation between current and previous positions by using position coordinates and altitudes of current and previous positions, and calculates an angle difference between current and previous angles. The controller controls a 3D screen displayed on the display unit corresponding to the calculated angle difference. The storage unit stores the coordinates, altitudes, and angles from the controller, map information, and multimedia files. The display unit displays the 3D screen under the control of the controller. |
