A steering gear of a steering system for a vehicle is provided to adjust steering finely by meshing a second pinion gear with a second rack gear and operating a rack bar finely. A steering gear of a steering system for a vehicle comprises a pinion gear(30) having first and second pinion gears(31,33) and a rack gear(50) having first and second rack gears(51,53). The first pinion gear is formed at a lower part of a pinion shaft and has predetermined diameter and a gear pitch for gaining a great rack stroke with the small rotation of a steering wheel. The second pinion gear is integrally formed with the first pinion gear and has the same rotational shaft as the first pinion gear. The second pinion gear has relatively smaller diameter and the gear pitch than the first pinion gear to finely adjust the steering wheel. The rack gear is formed at a rack bar(40), which is slid into a rack housing. The first and second rack gears are tooth-engaged with the first and second pinion gears and slid to adjust the rack stroke that is generated by handling of a driver.
