A method and a system for turning a page of an e-book automatically are provided to offer convenience and reduce a reading time effectively by calculating the number of characters included in the page, calculating the reading time per character for several times, fixing an execution time based on the reading time per character, and turning the page based on the execution time. A system includes an e-book module, an output device(40) displaying e-book contents played by the e-book module, a database(50) storing the e-book contents, and a system controller equipped with a function module selector, a database manager, and an e-book controller(13). The e-book controller includes a counter(71), a microcomputer(73) and an executor(72). The counter measures reading time per character of a user by calculating the number of characters included in a page for several times. The microcomputer calculates an automatic turning time by using the measured reading time per character and the number of characters included in the page. The executor turns the page of an e-book on the calculated automatic turning time.
