An ultrasound system and a method for processing Doppler spectrum images are provided to perform a contour trace and a peak trace accurately by removing a noise and aliasing from the Doppler spectrum images. A transmission and reception unit(110) transmits an ultrasound signal to an object, receives the ultrasound signal reflected from the object, and forms a Doppler signal. A Doppler spectrum image former(120) forms Doppler spectrum images in which a velocity of the moving object is seen as a gray difference by using the Doppler signal from the transmission and reception unit. A storage unit(130) stores a spectrum model including a plurality of spectrum patterns for determining a generation direction of aliasing and the existence of the aliasing. An image processor(140) performs an image process including a noise removal, an aliasing removal, a contour trace, and a peak trace for the Doppler spectrum images supplied from the Doppler spectrum image former. A display unit(150) displays the Doppler spectrum images processed by the image processor. A controller(160) controls the transmission and reception of the ultrasound signal, the formation of the Doppler spectrum images, the display, and the image process.
