A map matching method is provided to effectively perform map matching based on a previous map matching result by calculating an optimal matching link. A map matching method comprises the steps of: performing map matching in each different method according to the previous existence of a moving body on a road of the map by detecting a previous map matching result; and displaying the result that the map matching is performed on the map. Consequently, the map matching method uses previous map matching information by calculating an optimal matching link previously.
