<p>A network-based positioning method is provided to improve the coverage and accuracy of positioning by newly defining network-based pattern matching positioning parameters in a WiBro or TD-SCDMA(Time Division Synchronous CDMA) network. An MS(Mobile Station) collects the present network parameters from a WiBro network, including serving system information(S100). The MS transmits the collected network parameters to a PDE(Position Determination Entity)(S102). Based on the network parameters, the PDE selects candidate pixels(S104). The PDE transmits information containing the reference network parameters of the selected candidate pixels to the MS(S106). The MS compares the reference network parameters of the candidate pixels with the collected network parameters in a pattern matching method and selects a candidate pixel having the highest matching value as the final pixel(S108). The MS calculates its final position result, based on the RAS(Radio Access Station) Almanac information of a serving RAS and the relative location between the serving RAS and the final pixel(S110). The MS transmits the final position result to the PDE(S112).</p> |
