摘要 An apparatus and a method for managing power of an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) tag are provided to reduce power consumption of the RFID tag by measuring the strength of an RF signal received from an RFID reader and adjusting a level of transmission power according to the measured strength. A method for managing power of an RFID tag comprises the following several steps. An RFID tag receives an RF signal from an RFID reader wherein the received RF signal can be a signal for requesting tag information(S310). The received RF signal is converted into a digital signal and power strength of the converted digital signal is measured(S320). A preset power level is designated according to the measured power strength of the received RF signal(S330). A level of transmission power is set up with respect to a response signal to be transmitted to an RFID reader by processing data included in the RFID signal and accessing a memory(S340). The RFID tag transmits a generated response signal to the RFID reader in accordance with the set level of the transmission power(S350).
