A shock absorbing guardrail is provided to relieve and absorb impact force caused by vehicle collision by being installed to the side wall of safety facilities such as a guardrail, a median strip, or, a retaining wall, to absorb and disperse an impact with elastic force of an elastic member and to protect a vehicle and a driver by installing a front plate to the outside of a rear plate and installing a shock absorber including an elastic member between the front plate and the rear plate, to maximize impact absorbing force by installing a front plate to the outside of the front and dispersing an impact to the surroundings, and to absorb an impact by using an attachment unit and a wing unit, and a distortion spring inserted between the attachment unit and the wing unit, and to protect a vehicle and to have durability by returning to the original location by elasticity of a spring. A shock absorbing guardrail comprises a rear plate(10) installed along a roadside continuously, plural shock absorbers(20) attached to the rear plate at regular intervals to absorb vehicular impact, and a front plate(30) attached to the outside of the front of the shock absorber to disperse impact force to the surrounding shock absorbers and to absorb the impact force. The shock absorber comprises an attachment unit(21) attached to the rear plate, a wing unit(22) formed to be inclined at the appointed angle toward the proceeding direction of a vehicle and hinged to the attachment unit to be rotary, and a distortion spring(25) inserted between the attachment unit and the wing unit to keep the attachment unit and the wing unit at the appointed angle and to offer elasticity for absorbing vehicular impact.
