METHOD FOR CONFIGURING A MODEL MATRIX FOR LOW DENSITY PARITY CHECK ENCODING AND DECODING

A method for configuring a model matrix for performing a low density parity check encoding and decoding is provided to configure a model matrix having an excellent cycle characteristic using an overlapping characteristic. A method for configuring a model matrix for performing a low density parity check encoding and decoding includes the steps of: determining the number of second shifts which are included in a second model matrix overlapped with a first model matrix; configuring a low density parity check coding and decoding by overlapping a plurality of matrixes including the second modem matrix and the first modem matrix. The first modem matrix and the second modem matrix have sub blocks. The number of second shifts are determined by a size of the sub blocks and the number of first shifts of the first modem matrix to be overlapped with the number of the second shifts.
