ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

An electrophoretic display apparatus and a method of driving the same are provided to prevent variation of a data voltage during a sustain interval by blocking output of a high gate signal during the sustain interval. An electrophoretic display apparatus includes gate and data drivers(400,500), and a display panel(100). The gate driver outputs a high gate signal during a first interval, maintains a low state gate signal during a second interval, and outputs the high gate signal during a third interval. The data driver outputs a data voltage corresponding to image data during the first interval and a refresh voltage during the third interval. The display panel having first and second electrodes and plural pixel units displays images by receiving the data voltage in response to the high gate signal during the first interval, maintains the images in response to the low state gate signal during the second interval, and resets the images by receiving the refresh voltage in response to the high gate signal during the third interval.
