The invention relates to a method of brazing metal components, in which essentially fluxless metal components are brazed in an inert gas atmosphere, and to a corresponding device for brazing metal components in an inert gas atmosphere. The problem of providing a cost-effective method of brazing essentially fluxless metal components with which expensive vacuum brazing can be dispensed with and yet a sufficiently high quality of the brazed locations is achieved, is solved by a brazing method of the type in question by virtue of the fact that the inert gas volume directly surrounding the metal components and/or the brazed locations and its interaction with the rest of the brazing atmosphere are minimized.
