An apparatus and a method for testing VoIP subscriber modems are provided to enable a device inspector to handily test the line state of each VoIP subscriber modem and to construct a database for test data for each VoIP subscriber mode so as to easily manage the test data. A subscriber modem test control part(20) comprises a controller, a dialing part, a ring detector, and an audio player. If an inspector selects and appoints a VoIP subscriber modem through a test terminal(30), the control part confirms the number of the VoIP subscriber modem which is connected to a VoIP subscriber modem interface part. If the inspector selects dialing mode, the dialing part, makes a call to a test line interface part through the number-confirmed VoIP subscriber modem. If call-receiving mode is selected, the dialing part makes a call to the VoIP subscriber modem through the test line interface part. The ring detection part detects a ring signal sent from the dialing part. The audio play part, if a ring signal is normally detected by the ring detector, transmits a preset audio signal through an established call, and regenerates an audio signal which is transmitted through the call. |
