The tube (10) has a chamber (11) where X-rays are produced, and a cooling device (23) to cool the tube. The chamber has a rotating anode (13) that is located against a cathode (14) and rotates on a shaft (17). The cooling device is placed outside the tube, and directly connected to the anode, where the device has a heat conductor e.g. water or oil. The anode is filled with a heat shunt (24) that includes a liquid metal (25) e.g. Gallium or Gallium liquid alloy, assuring heat exchange by direct conduction between the anode and the cooling device.
