CONTROLLING METHOD FOR DRIVING A COMPRESSOR OF AIR CONDITIONER

A control method for driving a compressor in an air conditioner is provided to improve cooling and heating efficiency by driving a constant velocity compressor when a frequency of an inverter compressor is not a target frequency. A control method for driving a compressor in an air conditioner comprises the steps of: driving(S130) an inverter compressor by selecting a driving mode; transmitting(S151) a target frequency of the inverter compressor according to the desired temperature of a control part to an inverter; applying(S152) current corresponding to the target frequency to the inverter; judging whether the inverter compressor is overloaded or not according to the target frequency of the inverter; and determining whether a constant velocity compressor is driven or not if the target frequency value is overloaded in the inverter compressor.
