A sliding device for a sliding type mobile phone is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost and improve the assembling efficiency, by forming an elastic member, which is disposed between a stationary plate and a slide plate, of a board having the same plane through etching or press molding. A slide plate(2) is disposed correspondingly to a stationary plate(1). The slide plate is reciprocatively slid along a longitudinal direction of the stationary plate. An elastic member(200) is disposed between the stationary plate and the slide plate. When the slide plate is slide from the stationary plate by a predetermined distance, the elastic member is slid by an elastic force. The elastic member is composed of caught portions(204) and an elastic portion(202) disposed between the caught portions. The caught portions of the elastic member are formed at one side of the stationary plate and one side of the slide plate so that both ends of the elastic member is fixed by the stationary plate and the slide plate. The elastic member is formed of a board having the same plane, thereby providing the elastic force horizontally. The elastic member is molded by etching or press molding.
