An RFID tag and an access restricting method thereof are provided to protect privacy by enabling a user to determine whether the RFID tag is used or not. An RFID tag includes an antenna(210), a modulating/demodulating unit(221), a power unit(222), a processor(230), a memory(240), a state controller(250), a power generator(251) and a switch(260). The antenna receives electromagnetic signals from an RF reader or discharges the electromagnetic signals to the RF reader. The modulating/demodulating unit demodulates analog signals received by the antenna into digital signals or modulates digital signals outputted from the processor into analog signals. The processor reads data from the memory or records data on the memory in response to instruction signals received via the antenna. The memory includes a data section(241) and a state flag(242). In the data section, information on a product to which the RFID tag is adhered is stored. The memory comprises a non-volatile memory. If the switch is operated, the state controller stores state information at the state flag in response to the operation of the switch. The state information is information on whether the RFID is used or not. |
