The organic/inorganic composite is useful as insulation layer or external sheath layer (all claimed). The fireproof wire or cable is useful as fire-resistant coating material in interior structure, steel profile, wound cables, wound connections, foaming material and inflammable object in vehicles e.g. airplane, boat, car and train. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The fireproof wire or cable has a sufficient fire proofing property to pass over the UL 1581 VW-1 vertical wire flame test. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The figure shows the schematic representation of manufacturing the external sheath layer of fireproof wire. 100 : Copper wire 200 : Suspension 300 : External sheath layer 400 : Internal container. #CMT#INORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The inorganic particles comprises: hydroxide comprising metal hydroxide, preferably aluminum hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide; nitride comprising boron nitride or silicon nitride; oxide comprising silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide or zinc oxide; carbide comprising silicon carbide; metal salt comprising calcium carbonate; and inorganic layered material comprising clay, talc, or double layer hydroxide. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The organic/inorganic composite comprises organic component (10-90 wt.%, preferably 30-70 wt.%) and inorganic particles (90-10 wt.%, preferably 70-30 wt.%). The first and second reactive functional groups comprises hydroxyl, carboxyl, isocyanate, ammonia, amine compound of formulae (-NH 2 or -NH) or epoxy. The organic component comprises a polyacid, polyurethane, epoxy, a polyolefin or a polyamine. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Plyethylene-co-acrylic acid (300 g) was charged in a reactor, pretreated for 110-120[deg] C and agitated for 300rpm/minute. Then deionized water (324 g) and aqueous ammonia (324 g) were added in the reactor to obtain a white emulsion after agitation for 10 minutes. Then aluminum hydroxide powder (300 g) was added in the reactor to obtain a white suspension after agitation for 10 minutes. The suspension was dried in an oven at 60[deg] C for 60 minutes (preferably 140[deg] C for 30 minutes) and finally molded to 160[deg] C for 240 minutes.
