The device has a system for producing water steam at the bottom of a cooking apparatus (6) e.g. cooker, so as to maintain minimum water level in a reservoir (2) to release the steam during cooking. The reservoir is supported on a foot (1), and is connected with a tube (3). A valve slides on the tube, where the reservoir opens or closes automatically by the valve. The valve is connected to a floater (5).
