<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection apparatus accurately detecting a position of a pointer even if there are water droplets or the like on its surface. <P>SOLUTION: The position detection apparatus includes: a light guide plate 1 made of a translucent material installed on the display surface of a display device; a projection means 2 for performing total reflections in the thickness direction of the light guide plate 1 and for projecting a plurality of light fluxes of a predetermined width in line in X and Y directions from a side of the light guide plate 1 so that the light flux propagates in a predetermined direction along the surface direction of the light guide plate; a projection control means 3 for controlling the projection means 2 so that the light fluxes are scanned sequentially in the X and Y directions along the side of the light guide plate 1; a pointer 4 having a light guide part 41 which is brought into contact with the light guide plate 1 for introducing light passing in the light guide plate 1, and a detection part 42 for detecting the light introduced by the light guide part 41, and outputting a detection signal; and a coordinate computing means 43 for computing a coordinate position where the pointer 4 is brought into contact with the light guide plate 1 on the basis of the detection signal and a scanning position by the projection control means 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
